First Cherishing Sidmouth Cemeteries working party gets to work!

At last, after a lot of anticipation and a lot of planning…

The ‘official launch’ of the CSC – Cherishing Sidmouth Cemeteries and Public meeting @ Sidmouth Cemetery: 13th January: more details – Cherishing Sidmouth Cemeteries

… the volunteer working party met up for the first time this morning at the Cemetery.

Here are a few thoughts from CSC steering group member Amanda O’Connell:

“I think there were 10 of us plus Paul [Fealey, EDDC horticultural officer]. (Someone may have done a better head count than me!) A lady walked through the cemetery and asked if we were volunteers and said well done. She had seen the notices I put up and said she would like to volunteer…”

And here are a couple of photos from Amanda from the morning’s first session:

Paul Fealey, EDDC horticultural officer, also commented:

“The session went very well this morning. See photos attached.”

A big thank you to all the volunteers who braved the damp weather – not ideal for raking grass!

Look forward to seeing you next Thursday: same time, same place!
