The Sidmouth Scouts lend another helping hand!

It was back in the gloom of February last year that the Sidmouth Scouts lent a hand at Sidmouth Cemetery – and an excellent job they did.

They have been back again!

Last Saturday a group of hearty Scout Explorers from the First Sid Vale Scouts not only tackled the dreaded brambles in the older part of the cemetery, but they also raked up a huge area of grass cut two weeks before. A really demanding job – the first involving lots of very prickly, very mean out-of-control invasives, the other involving a heavy wet soggy mess.

Fourteen bags (yes, 14!) were filled to be taken away by the council’s StreetScene team.

So a huge thanks to Ian Fletcher and his team: something the Cherishing Sidmouth Cemeteries working party are very grateful for!

Ian, Explorer Scout leader, also found the time to take some great photos of the afternoon’s work:

Thank you again the Scout Explorers from the First Sid Vale Scouts!
