Vote for Britain’s “Top 10 Parks”! Vote for Connaught Gardens!

The very special Connaught Gardens in Sidmouth is one of East Devon’s Green Flag spaces. And as you might know, the Green Flag Award is “the benchmark international standard for publicly accessible parks and green spaces in the United Kingdom and around the world”.

These make up some of the many green spaces in the built-up area of Sidmouth – and are important as they form our green corridors, as highlighted in the Place-Analysis of the Sid Valley Neighbourhood Plan.

And Sidmouth Cemetery and the Parish churchyard are very much part of this living fabric.

The Cherishing Sidmouth Cemeteries project has its links to other such sites around the area, including the Amos Vale Cemetery in the heart of Bristol, which is the South West’s oldest garden cemetery.

And this week’s newsletter from the Arnos Vale Cemetery reminds us that voting is now open for the People’s Choice Top 10 Parks.

How can we vote for Connaught Gardens?!

If you go to the map on the Award Winners page at the Green Flag Award, you can home in on Sidmouth and Connaught Gardens and Peak Hill Slope as one of the places to vote for.

So, once you’ve found Connaught Gardens on the map, then click the pin, then “more details”, and hit “vote for this site” on the left-hand side! It’s that easy!

Let’s vote for Sidmouth!
