An Arts & Crafts grave at Sidmouth Cemetery

A lot of people – and a lot of notable and famous people – retired to Sidmouth and so many of them are now resting in peace in the main cemetery. Many of their resting places are being rediscovered by the Cherishing Sidmouth’s Cemeteries volunteers as they work their way around the older areas of the Sidmouth Cemetery.

Last week, one of these graves was found – that of the Venerable Cecil Frederick Joseph Bourke MA (1841-1910) Archdeacon of Buckingham – with photos taken by CSC working party member Amanda O’Carroll. It shows a fine Arts & Crafts stone:

And VGS webmaster Mary has put this and newspaper obituaries on the Other graves pages of this website.

All very interesting.
