The volunteers of the Cherishing Sidmouth Cemeteries might have been doing a lot of hard rough work – for example, when raking up the strimmings at Sidmouth Cemetery or when having to hack their way through the brambles when uncovering family graves in the Cemetery: further finds – Cherishing Sidmouth Cemeteries
But the team are also very sensitive in their work, such as when taking care managing the Cemetery’s grass for wild flowers and insects.
It’s amazing what there is to find in the grass – once it’s been cut and cleared a little so that it no longer chokes absolutely everything.

Here is the CSC team gathering ideal material for their on-site compost heap, which makes an excellent home for both slow worms and beetles.
