The Cherishing Sidmouth Cemeteries working party have been busy over the months up at Sidmouth Cemetery – not only hefting huge amounts of bramble and turf to reveal hidden graves, but also delicately cutting back both wild and ornamental flowering shrubs to reveal some hidden gems.
And one such gem has been revealed – with this stunning rose emerging this week – and named ‘the Winslade Rose’ by members of the working party:

As one of the team members says:
“Two photos this week are of an old rose in the Windslade border which was looking a bit past it in January this year, but after some serious pruning it has rewarded us with lots of beautiful blooms.
And here it is after its pruning back in winter – and yes, it is the same bush!
