Generous donations for the Cherishing Sidmouth’s Cemeteries project

Over the last months, there have been several very generous offers of donations and of help being made by members of the public and relatives to the Cherishing Sidmouth’s Cemeteries project.

Those offering donations have suggested spending the funds on equipment for the volunteers to use, or fresh plants, or other necessities for the cemetery.

Many have been equally generous in their praise, for example:

  • “I just wanted to say thank you to the volunteers who have worked so hard to return it to it’s present state.”
  • “Please do let me know if there is anything you feel we may be able to get involved with.”
  • “Looking so much better this year and provided me with the inspiration to tidy up my own family plot. Thank you!”
  • “What a difference…we went there quite a few years ago looking for my grandparents and couldn’t find their graves as it was so overgrown and un cared for….you are all doing an amazing job.”
  • “Congratulations to all those wonderful volunteers the cemetery is looking as it should be CARED FOR Thankyou so much to all concerned .”
  • “Well done to everyone involved. True citizenship. Sidmouth the town where the people really care. Actions speak so much louder than words!”
  • “Cared for at last…..well done!”

A big thanks, then, to all the volunteers.

And a big thanks to all the support from the local community.
